Friday Basketball Illawarra will farewell one of its junior stars. Angus Glover, who has just returned from representing Australia at the Under 19 World Championships in Greece will leave to take up a full time scholarship at the Basketball Australia Centre of Excellence (AIS) in Canberra. 16 year old Angus has represented the IBA since 2007 as an 8 year old. Basketball Illawarra would like to wish Angus all the best for his future on and off the court.

The boys will attend a camp at the AIS in Canberra this weekend for selection in the 12 man team to represent Australia at the upcoming Oceania Championships. Basketball Illawarra would like to wish Kyle and Lachlan all the best at the camp.
The Hawks skills academy has a 3 tiered structure
Tier 1: Non-representative players aged between 9-12 years old who are currently playing in the domestic competition. TIER 1 CLOSED CAPACITY REACHED
Tier 2: SJL Representative players. Former and current representative players. All age groups. TIER 2 CLOSED CAPACITY REACHED
Tier 3: Current CPL Representative players (Term 4)
20 participants in each tier.
• Offensive fundamentals / Shooting technique
• Defensive fundamentals / Footwork
• Principles of game play & court awareness
Friday afternoons 4:00 – 5:30pm @ The ‘Snakepit’
8 week program commencing Friday 31st July
Cost: $100 per athlete for the 8 week program

Congratulations to Angus Glover on your selection in the U19 Australian Emus 12 man team for the 2015 FIBA U19 World Championship held in Heraklion/Crete, Greece from 27 June – 5 July. Australia will take on Canada, Italy and Tunisia in Group C.
Basketball Illawarra will be running a Level 1 Scoretable course . The course will be presented by Lyn Ackroyd commencing at 5:30pm-9:00pm in the Peter Bolt Administration Centre Board room on Monday 18th , There is no charge for this course and will provide certification. Please take this opportunity to get the information required for all parents required to do scoretable duty.
