FORD Aussie Hoops: HAWKS TAKE FLIGHT
Designed for Ages 5-10, this program is a complete introduction to basketball – learn the skills, play the game and take flight with the Hawks.
Ford Aussie Hoops: Hawks Take Flight is IBA’s fun, inclusive and action-packed junior basketball program, designed for children aged 5-10. Developed as a pathway into basketball, the program combines fundamental skill development with real game experiences to help young players build confidence, learn how to play and develop a love for the sport.
Each 90-minute session is split into two parts:
45 minutes of Skill Development
Players learn and develop the fundamentals of basketball, including dribbling, passing, shooting, footwork and other essential skills through fun, engaging activities designed for their age and ability.
45 minutes of Learn-to-Play Games
Players put their skills into action through fun, game-like activities and team games. With a focus on learning, teamwork and having fun rather than keeping scores, children begin to understand how the skills they’ve developed come together in a real game.
Whether your child is picking up a basketball for the first time or has already fallen in love with the sport, Ford Aussie Hoops: Hawks Take Flight provides a welcoming environment for every skill level.
The program is designed to give young players the skills, confidence and understanding they need to progress into IBA Local Competitions when they’re ready.

Tuesday: 4:15pm-5:45pm at the Illawarra Sport & Community Precinct – Berkeley (5-7 yrs & 8-10 yrs)
Friday: 4:15pm-5:45pm at the Illawarra Sport & Community Precinct – Berkeley (5-7 yrs & 8-10 yrs)
Saturday: 8:00am-9:30am at The Snakepit (5-7 yrs & ALL GIRLS 5-10 yrs), 9:45am-11:15am 8-10 yrs)
