Player Registration (valid for 12 months)

  • Registration fee is annual an BNSW levy with sports injury insurance and Illawarra association membership fee. All players must have a valid registration for insurance purposes.

  • $105 - Players born 2008 - 2013

  • $77 - Players born 2014 and later.

FAQs

  • Where are games played?
    The Snakepit at Beaton Park is our main venue. Occasionally, other venues may include Beaton Park Leisure Centre, UniActive, Illawarra Sports Stadium.
  • When do your social competitions run?
    IBA runs 2 seasons per year in conjunction with the school terms. Summer season:Term 4 & Term 1 Winter season: Term 2 & Term 3.
  • What skill level is required?
    Players of any skill level and experience are welcome.
  • Who do you play against?
    We create teams based on interested players that play against each other, along with other teams that are entered into the competitions from other groups/clubs.
  • What programs do run for player development for Juniors?
    IBA offers two development programs for Juniors that are interested in learning and/or developing their skills as Junior players: Aussie Hoops – Basketball Australia’s foundational and introduction program to the sport of Basketball. This program will cater for any juniors between 5yrs-12yrs and is aimed at anyone who is eager to learn the fundamentals of Basketball (Ballhandling, Passing, Shooting, Defence and Footwork). This program will allow juniors to learn the skills needed to participate in our Local Competition on a weekday afternoon. Local Development – This program will cater for any juniors 12yrs-17yrs who are wishing to enhance their basketball fundamentals and improve their basketball knowledge.
  • What is difference between Representative and Social basketball?
    The IBA offers Representative basketball from Junior to Senior levels. In this program you play for Illawarra against other teams within New South Wales. For more information check out the Representative pages from our "Basketball" menu. The IBA also offers social/domestic competitions for all age groups and skill levels.   • Is Working with Children Check required?
    Yes, all coaches and team contacts 18 + must provide a valid Working with Children Check.
  • What are team uniform requirements?
    Matching singlets numbered front and back from 00 – 99. Basketball shorts (no pockets) same solid colour back and front, not necessarily the same colour as singlet.
  • Where are game fixtures and results found?
    Click on the Draw / Results at the top of this page, or Download the "GameDay" app.
  • How do I join Illawarra Basketball Association (IBA)?
    To register to play competition basketball, there are two fees that are payable, each one is 12 months in duration. Illawarra Participant Registration Fee – $47.93 BNSW Participation Registration Fee – $82.07
  • How much does it cost?
    The cost of the season can range between $200 – $300 per person per season depending on how many games are in the season. Note: This does not include registration fee.
  • How do I use my Active Kids Voucher?
    Payment can be made on GameDay in the usual way and during one of the last steps, enter your AKV in the designated field.
  • I'm having difficulty paying, what can I do?
    Please contact Selin on selin.kahraman@snakepit.com.au to arrange a payment plan. Confidentiality is assured.
  • What is the Junior Committee?
    The aim of the Junior Committee is to ensure that local junior competitions are balanced, structured and enjoyable for all involved.
